crunchy ground

crunchy ground

I was in orbit
speeding away from the sun
when the earth hit me
on the ear.
It cracked
and I broke
your heart.
I never saw it
coming
and I can't tell
shock from pain
and I can't feel
right or wrong
but I'm back
on shaky ground
and it's crunchy,
laying shattered
and soft,
caressing
my tired feet.
